FAQ

WHAT IS A PSYCHOLOGIST?

A clinical psychologist is a doctorate level mental health professional who has the ability is assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders. While all clinical psychologists can be referred to as "therapists", not all therapists have the level of education needed to be a psychologist. However, they are both working towards similar goals: helping individuals create meaningful change in their lives.

HOW LONG WILL I NEED TO BE IN THERAPY?

Therapy is highly personalized to each individual, couple, or family.  The length of time depends on many factors that are mostly based on your goals for treatment.  During the first few sessions, we will develop a plan to target whatever you want or need to work on and that course of action will give us a rough estimate of the amount of time you can expect to attend therapy.

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

Initial Intake Session: $250 (90 minutes)

Regular Session: $190 (50-60 minutes)

HOW LONG DOES EACH SESSION TAKE?

The first session, also called the intake session, lasts 90 minutes.  Sessions thereafter are typically 50-60 minutes and usually occur once per week.  Sometimes it is beneficial to extend sessions to 90 minutes in length, depending on therapeutic goals and your treatment plan.  You and I get to decide together what will work best for your unique circumstances.

Reduced rates are offered on a limited basis.  The availability of sessions at reduced rates change as clients achieve their treatment goals and terminate therapy which makes it difficult to estimate when openings will occur.

DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I do not accept insurance.  However, some insurance companies provide reimbursement for out-of-network providers.  This is something you would negotiate directly with your insurance company.  I can provide documentation to you in the form of a "superbill" which is what most insurance companies request.
